LJS Books

Welcome to LJSbooks!

This is the Tumblr chapter of the fabulous LJS Cover Resource. That’s run by Lorraine. I handle the Twitter and the Tumblr in an unofficial, supplementary capacity. Translation: Don’t blame her for my screw-ups.

L.J. Smith (also known as Lisa Jane Smith, Lisa J. Smith, and Ljane Smith) may seem to have come “out of nowhere”, depending on how old you are. On the contrary, her first novel, The Night of the Solstice, was published in 1987.

That leads me to another point. Yes, LJS’s works are enjoying a renaissance right now in large part due to the current vampire trends. That trend was, in large part, kick-started by Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight. This has lead to a lot of readers claiming that LJS has “ripped off” Meyer. To put it bluntly, The Vampire Diaries were first published in 1991. Do the math.

Most of the covers posted here will come from Lorraine’s LJS Cover Resource. Obviously, neither of us own the rights to them.

Rules/Guidelines/Whatnot:
1. This Tumblr will focus on LJS’s books. I’ll try to keep up-to-date with new editions, different covers, etc. That’s all that’s going here, though: no fanfic, fanart, etc.

2. This Tumblr has nothing to do with the television adaptation of The Vampire Diaries, so please don’t alert me to news regarding it. The only mention it will get here is in conjunction with the TV tie-in covers.

3. No, I don’t know when Strange Fate is coming out. The author herself doesn’t even know.

4. The Twitter account is at ljsbooks I’ll announce new Tumblr postings there, as well as provide links to book sales and such. I likely won’t be following/friending anyone except potential information sources, so don’t take it personally.

5. These guidelines are open to changes without notice. I have the bad habit of not making changes for a long time, and then doing a massive overhaul on a whim.

6. The one that should be obvious, but is still necessary. I am not L.J. Smith. I am not affiliated in any way with the author, her agent, her publishers, etc. I am merely a fan. I don’t own the rights to the covers of her novels. No copyright infringement is intended.
